The Skirt Scene

Pleated, longer length skirts are everywhere this season, and although I love the look of a full-bodied midi, they just look odd on me. And trust me, I’ve tried on my fair share this spring! I finally found this cute one in a super versatile navy (my favorite color). It’s on trend – although perhaps not the super trendy mid-calf length – and tough to pass up at under $50 (with a discount). The shirt is probably over a decade old, but the classic navy and white stripe look is one of my favorites so I never part with this staple. Check out the “Currently Craving” sidebar to see the midis I’m loving if only I had the extra budget and the extra two or three inches of leg.

Ann Taylor skirt | Ann Taylor shirt (so old, but similar styles here and here) | Rachel Zoe purse (old, but cute yellow option here and I love the yellow version of this Chloe) | Lilly Pulitzer shoes | Banana Republic necklace | Kate Spade earrings | Marc Jacobs sunglasses (borrowed from a friend)| Madewell bracelets here and here

    I was literally looking in my closet today and deciding if I should part ways with a half dozen of these types of skirts from 7-10 years ago. This pic has me inspired to keep them(such a great look on you- as are all looks!!), now if only I could fit in mine…

      Ugh. Deciding what to toss and what to keep is the worst! My advice is that if its a favorite and gives you motivation, keep it. If it bums you out in any way then chuck it. (; I’ve come to realize that lots of things just are not going to work again, courtesy of the wee ones. (;
