Goldilocks and the Chambray Shirt Dress

I’ve tried on more than my fair share of chambray shirt dresses, but none of them fit quite right or were the right shade of blue to convince me to purchase. I did recently buy a great looking one from Madewell (link here), but the day after was when the weather turned warmer in Minnesota and I just don’t see myself wearing a flannel-lined dress into the spring, no matter how comfortable. This version is just right. The length is good, I like the dark shade of blue, and the belt hits at the right spot. Paired with a vest it’s perfect for days like these – when you want to be out on the lake but need to wait out the chill in the air and the ice on the water just a bit longer.

Reality Check. A shorter length skirt with bare legs is probably a little aggressive this early in the spring, but Minnesotans are known for breaking out the summer gear as soon as the temperatures hit 50 or above.

    I definitely wore a knee length dress with Sperrys on Saturday afternoon, however I paired it with a long sweater, so I felt it was still spring weather appropriate.

      Yeah, not only am I all about the dresses and skirts, the jackets also rarely come out of the closet! We spend so much time bundled up, I love to be able to give the jackets a rest. (;

      Thanks Sara! I don’t know them, but my dad does through Darby. He bought this for Ella and I borrowed it for the day. About 5 seconds after she saw me she said “Hey! That mine!”
