Overcast Overrun

We are in the midst of an impressively long stretch of overcast skies in Minneapolis, with the only changeup in the weather occurring with different variations of what happens with the moisture in the air, such as dense fog like in these pictures, or full-on rain, as was the case for most of yesterday. It’s weather that makes you want to feel cozy in whatever you’re wearing and it seems natural to mimic the colors of what surrounds you. I love the soft feel of this comfy cream sweater, and how I can layer it with casual yoga gear or dress it up by pairing it with nicer alternatives, such as this black shift and tights.

My heeled booties from this season are already looking a little ragged, with scuffs on the heel and salt marks on the leather, so I wanted to have a more durable option. I’ve resisted the Ugg trend for years and years, but love these wedges, and now completely understand why people love how warm and toasty they keep your feet.

Reality Check. Whenever we take pictures at the lake I’m aware of (and fairly fearful of) the close proximity of hunters in the nearby fields. My approach of “mimicking the colors around you” could be a reeeeeally bad idea. I should incorporate more orange.
