Summer Lovin’

Social media blew up over the weekend with images of and comments about the “end of summer.” And I get it – so many things signal the end of the season – the State Fair (a BIG deal in Minnesota) winds down, the nights seem to get cooler immediately at sundown, and for those of us with little ones, we need to get our brains wrapped around school starting. I’m going to hold on to summer as much as possible, especially during the weekends at the cabin, but it’s also fun to reflect on some of the fun family times over the past few weeks. These pictures are from our trip to Valley Fair in August. It was in connection with my office’s “summer family picnic,” and to be honest, I thought we would grab lunch and head out quickly after hitting a ride or two. But we spent the full afternoon at the park, the kiddos loving Planet Snoopy – with attractions geared toward their size – Trevor loving to hang with the kids on the rides (whenever he wasn’t over the height limit!), and me being perfectly content capturing it on camera and grabbing some of my favorite fair food.

Spotted Shift

Being a lawyer I often need to dress in a fairly conservative fashion, but I always like to have an interesting pattern or a pop of color even in the most basic and classic of styles, like this shift. The conservative cut, neckline and length of this dress make it completely okay if I throw in a retro polka dot pattern and fun bright shoes!
