College Visit

The forecast for this past Saturday looked to be pretty fantastic, and since we weren’t headed to the cabin we thought we would take a drive to show the kids where their mommy and daddy went to college about a hundred years ago. Trevor and I both loved where we went to school, but we have made it back only on one or two occasions. The campus has changed a lot (as have we!) but its beauty remains. It was a perfect, pretty day and we seemed to have the grounds to ourselves. Trevor and I could walk around leisurely as the kids ran ahead to explore.

Primary Color Poncho

When temperatures inch toward 40 in the winter in Minnesota, people get a wild hair to do things like drive with their convertible top down or run around the lakes in shorts. The warm weather bug bites me too, but in the shopping form, like when I had a real pull the other day to head into the Sperry store for Top-Siders. I was surprised to find that Sperry had clothing as well, and pleased to see it was 60% off that day. The cropped style of this poncho and the vibrant navy and green combo will work well for when the warmer temps stay for more than just a day or two.

Sweet Valentine Decor

In early February of last year I walked into my parents’ house and immediately noticed the darling decoration she had hung from the mantle. She had made a garland with antique Valentine’s Day cards stitched onto ribbon. It was simple and sweet, just a tiny touch of themed décor for the holiday. It’s tough to muster up the energy to decorate immediately on the heels of a couple of months heavy with holiday décor, but adding just a little something singular can have big impact.
