Cozy Cover-Up

I don’t wear a lot of yellow, since I don’t think it looks particularly good with my skin tone except at the end of summer when I sport a bit of a tan. I also have a hard time wearing terry cloth as a summer fabric. By definition, if I’m wearing a sundress or swimsuit cover-up, doesn’t that also mean that it’s quite warm? But with a bit more of a chill in the air, a tan the best it’s going to get this year (which isn’t saying much), and with fashion trends turning from sunny to sienna, it seemed to be a good time to break out this number.

Reality Check.  I’m pressing the “publish” button and it’s 45 degrees outside right now in Minnesota. Yup. 45 degrees. In an earlier post (Not Falling Yet) I mentioned that I wasn’t excited for fall to arrive – this is why. We have these days when it seems we leapfrog over fall completely.  I know we will get a handful of warm days ahead, perhaps some even appropriate for this outfit, but I admit that the timing of this post may seem ridiculous to my Minnesota friends.

Let me also give a brief mention about the fedora. I like hats and I love the look of fedoras, but I just cannot pull it off in any realistic way in my life. Maybe I’m too old? Maybe I’m not cool enough?  I don’t know the exact reason, but I feel silly wearing it. I had my husband snap pictures quickly before anyone else in my family arrived at the cabin, as I knew they would share my opinion regarding the fancy fedora, and take great pleasure in making fun of it for the weekend.
